MAGICIAN Open Call 2 is seeking innovative proposals to explore and validate the performance of the MAGICIAN framework in real-time production environments. The focus is on enhancing productivity, safety, and ergonomics in manufacturing through collaborative robotics and AI-driven defect detection and repair. This call aims to fund 5 projects that demonstrate the application of MAGICIAN capabilities in new sectors beyond the automotive industry.
Type of projects to be funded: Projects must demonstrate the application of a maximum of 2 capabilities of the MAGICIAN framework in innovative domains beyond the automotive sector.
Sectors / domain: Eligible sectors include Aerospace, Electronics, Heavy Industry & Energy, Interior design components, Maritime & shipbuilding, Public transports, Intermediate components based on glass, plastic, textile, and White goods.
Individual or consortium: Projects can be submitted by individual European SMEs or start-ups (Single AUC) or by a consortium of two companies (Twin AUC) preferably from different countries.
Specific eligibility requirements: Applicants must be legal entities established in eligible European countries. Proposals must be written in English and submitted by start-ups or SMEs.
Specific topics or challenges: Proposals should address specific capabilities such as defect detection, human-robot interaction, or defect rework improvements.
Projects duration: The exact duration is not specified, but projects are expected to align with the implementation timeline starting in June 2026.
Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
Funding rate: 70% for SMEs, up to 100% for start-ups
Budget conditions / limitations: Maximum funding per project is 200,000 €.
Payments: Funding is distributed in three stages; pre-financing up to 50%, an intermediate payment up to 35%, and a final payment of up to 15%.
